Internships & co-op · Toronto

Build
with us.

A film studio needs more than filmmakers. Bring your curiosity to the craft, the technology or the business behind the work.

We want to help emerging talent develop—and, when the fit and opportunity are right, grow into our team.

Currently exploring unpaid, school-approved placements. Paid co-ops require a funded role. Read the placement details

From introduction to experience

A path into
the studio.

Here’s how we’ll approach a placement, together with you and your school.

  1. Start with an introduction.

Tell us about your program, interests and what you want to learn. Share your school’s requirements, timing and any work you’d like us to see.

  2. Find the right fit.

We’ll talk through your goals and the studio’s upcoming work. Together, we’ll identify a useful focus and the guidance it would need.

  3. Make a plan with your school.

Before starting, agree the responsibilities, learning goals, supervisor, dates, hours, location and terms. Confirm school approval and the required placement and safety arrangements.

  4. Learn through making.

Begin with an orientation to the work, tools and equipment relevant to your role. Build responsibility through guided tasks, feedback and progress check-ins.

  5. Review what comes next.

Reflect on your progress, complete the school’s evaluation and discuss your next steps. Agree what work you may share in your portfolio, subject to project permissions.

Beyond the placement

A beginning.
Possibly a longer story.

We’re interested in people we can keep building with. Curiosity, care for the work, reliability and how we collaborate all matter.

A strong placement could lead to paid project work or, when a funded role opens, a place on the team. We’ll discuss that honestly at the review; neither is guaranteed.

Any paid engagement has its own responsibilities and pay agreed before the work begins.

For colleges & program coordinators

Let’s shape a
useful placement.

We’d like to connect with programs in film, media, business, marketing, design and technology. Let’s discuss learning outcomes, supervision and assessment before proposing a student role.

Share your program, placement window and academic requirements, including whether a paid role is required. We’ll explore the right structure with you.

Before you introduce yourself

The practical details.

We’re welcoming expressions of interest while we develop school relationships. Each placement needs an agreed plan before it starts.

Pay & eligibility
We consider unpaid internships and field placements within qualifying, school-approved academic programs. Each placement must meet the institution’s requirements for unpaid participation. Paid co-op placements are considered separately, when suitable paid opportunities are available.
Dates & hours
Share your school’s placement window and required hours. We’ll agree the duration, schedule and start date with you and your coordinator, based on the program and our supervision capacity.
Where you’ll work
Anahata is based in Toronto. In-person, remote or mixed arrangements depend on the role and school requirements; we’ll confirm the location and any on-set attendance before you commit.
What to share
Your program, area of interest, learning goals and timing. A portfolio, coursework, personal project or CV link is welcome. You don’t need a polished showreel to start a conversation.
